What is propolis?
When you injure a tree, it exudes sap which hardens over the injury and protects the tree from further damage from infections. Bees gather this material, mix it with wax and other secretions, and use it all around the inside of the hive to prevent fungal growth, bacterial growth, and viral activity. Neat stuff. We collect propolis from the hives and create a number of value added products which you can use internally and externally for medicinal purposes.
Because propolis is antibacterial, antifungal, and antiviral, the tincture made from it, when taken during the onset of a cold, can help heal a sore throat before you get sick. See www.beepropolis.info and www.draperbee.com/info/propolis.htm.
